You can upload documents in three places in Nagaris: the firm-wide Documents library, the Cloud Documents card on a client, and the classic Documents card on a client. The first two store files in your SharePoint library; the third stores the file against the client record in Nagaris. Each has its own size limit, so this article covers all three.
Documents page (library) — up to 100 MB per file, up to 10 files at a time. All file types accepted.
Cloud Documents card on a client — up to 100 MB per file. All file types accepted.
Documents card on a client (and client group Documents card) — up to 50 MB per file. All file types accepted.
If a file is over the limit for the spot you're using, the uploader won't accept it — the file simply isn't added to the selection, so if a file seems to do nothing when dropped, check its size first. For very large files, use the 100 MB SharePoint options above, or share a link to the file's location instead of uploading the file itself.
Go to Documents and navigate to the folder the files belong in.
Click Upload. The Upload Documents to SharePoint dialog opens.
Check the Upload Location banner — it shows exactly where the files will go (the folder you were viewing, or Documents for the root).
Optionally add a Description.
Drag files onto the dropzone or click Browse Files. The guidelines are shown in the dialog: maximum file size 100 MB, ensure the file is clear and legible, and make sure scanned documents are properly oriented.
Review the selected files (you can remove any before uploading), then click Upload [n] Documents.
You'll see Successfully uploaded 3 file(s)! on success. If some files fail, the dialog stays open and lists them — for example Failed to upload 1 file(s): deed.pdf — so you can retry just those.
Each client page has a Cloud Documents card showing that client's SharePoint folder (you can browse subfolders inside the card):
On the client's page, open the Cloud Documents card and click the plus button (Upload Document).
The same Upload Documents to SharePoint dialog opens, with the Upload Location pre-set to the client's folder — Clients/[client name], plus any subfolder you had open in the card.
Add files and click Upload [n] Documents as above.
Files uploaded here are visible both on the client's card and in the Documents library under the client's folder. Cloud Documents requires document management to be enabled for your organisation — if it isn't, the card explains that cloud document management needs to be enabled and to contact your administrator.
The Documents card on a client (and the equivalent card on a client group) stores files directly against the record in Nagaris rather than SharePoint:
Click the plus button (Upload Document) on the card.
Drag in or browse for files — each can be renamed in the preview list before saving.
Optionally add a Description, then click Save.
You'll see Document uploaded successfully! when it's done. This is also where staff can toggle Request document from client to ask the client to supply a file instead — see Requesting documents from clients.
Uploads accept any file type in all three locations; the dialog icons (PDF, Word, Excel, images, text, zip) are just examples.
Documents uploaded to SharePoint open in a new browser tab in SharePoint when clicked.
If an upload fails repeatedly, note the exact file name, type and size and send them to support with a screenshot of the error.
