Individual tax return client records can now be converted directly to sole trader without recreating them. The conversion keeps existing client data intact and adds the fields required for the new entity type.
Additional fields, including ABN and business name, are captured at the point of conversion, removing the need to manually rebuild client records when a client's structure changes.
You can now stop billing on subscriptions connected to Xero directly from the billing settings. This addresses a gap where finance teams had no way to halt an active Xero subscription without canceling it outright, and gives more control over billing state changes.
The change applies to existing Xero-linked subscriptions and reflects immediately in subscription status, so billing questions around paused or stopped accounts are easier to resolve.
When a client payment fails, the system now emails both the client and the accounting firm automatically. The Accounting firm can choose who is notified in the Settings→Notifications section
