Exporting clients, groups, contacts and engagements to CSV

How to export filtered lists from Nagaris to CSV for reporting in Excel, and exactly what the export includes.

When you need figures or lists outside Nagaris — for a partners' meeting, a mail merge or your own spreadsheet reporting — you can export the main list pages to CSV. The export always mirrors the filters you currently have applied on screen, so what you see is what you get (across every page of results, not just the visible page).

Which lists can be exported

  • Client Groups — exports to a file named like nagaris-client-groups-2026-07-13.csv.

  • Clients — nagaris-clients-2026-07-13.csv.

  • Contacts — nagaris-contacts-2026-07-13.csv.

  • Engagements — nagaris-engagements-2026-07-13.csv.

The date in the file name is the day you ran the export. Exports are available to staff users only — users with client-level access don't see the option.

Running an export

  1. Open the list page (for example Clients) and apply any search, status, tag or date filters you want reflected in the file.

  2. Click the Table Options button (the cog icon at the top right of the table).

  3. Choose Export CSV.

  4. You'll see a progress message such as Downloading clients CSV..., then Clients CSV downloaded successfully once the file lands in your browser's downloads.

If something goes wrong you'll see a message such as Failed to download clients CSV — try again, and if it keeps failing contact support.

What the export respects

  • Search text — only rows matching your current search are included.

  • Status filters — for example, the Client Groups list excludes Archived groups by default, so an export run with default filters won't contain archived groups. Add the Archived status to the filter first if you need them.

  • Date ranges — created or sent date filters carry through to the export.

  • All other filters — tags, creation source, engagement status, proposal status, partner, manager and similar filters on each page are all applied to the export.

  • Sorting — the engagements export also keeps your current sort order.

Column visibility is the one thing an export does not follow: hiding a column on screen doesn't remove it from the CSV.

Good to know

  • Page size and pagination are ignored — the export contains the full filtered set even if the screen only shows 20 rows.

  • The Table Options menu is also where you show and hide table columns; the Export CSV item sits at the top of that menu.

  • There is no separate reports section in Nagaris at the moment — CSV exports from the list pages are the way to get data out for your own analysis. The dashboard itself (see Understanding your dashboard and My Actions) focuses on meeting follow-ups rather than firm-wide metrics.
