Nagaris can draw the structure of a client group visually. Open the group and select the Map tab — every entity in the group appears as a shape, colour-coded by type, with the people and roles behind it. The Map tab is staff-only; client-role users don't see it.
The bar above the canvas holds a set of tabs:
Current — the live group view. It is read-only (Live group view — read-only) so the real structure can't be changed by accident, and it stays in sync with the group's actual clients. While on it you'll see the notice Read-only view — start a new scenario to make edits, and a refresh button (Refresh — sync new entities from the live group) to pull in newly added entities.
Scenario tabs — editable snapshots. Click New Scenario to freeze the current view into a new tab (named like Scenario – Jul 2026) and start editing. Double-click a scenario tab to rename it; the small cross deletes it. Scenarios are independent of live data, which makes them ideal for restructure proposals and what if diagrams.
Everything you draw saves automatically — a Saving… / Saved indicator appears in the toolbar (or Save failed if something went wrong).
Each entity type has a standard shape and colour: individuals are blue circles, companies slate-grey rectangles, trusts purple inverted triangles, SMSFs amber hexagons and partnerships green ovals. The Legend panel (bottom right) explains the shapes in use; within a scenario you can click a legend label to rename it or remove entries.
Cards show the entity's name, type, ABN/ACN and the roles of linked contacts. Archived clients are hidden from the map unless Show archived clients is switched on in the group header (an archived group always shows everything).
The toolbar on the left offers:
Select mode, Draw connection and Add text label, plus Delete selected.
A plus menu to add shapes: the standard entity shapes, other shapes (triangle, parallelogram, diamond, pentagon, line connector), a Firm Logo, a Text Box, and Create & Manage Custom Shapes — firm-level shapes with your own colour and label that are saved for your entire firm.
When drawing a connection you can pick a line style (arrow forward, arrow reverse, two-way arrow, plain line, dotted line) and colour. After you draw one, the Add Connection Label dialog asks for an optional label (e.g. Trustee, Director, Owns…). Double-click a connection later to edit its label and colour.
Double-click (or use the edit control on) an entity to open Edit Entity Details: change the Display Name, Entity Type Label, Shape, Colour, ACN/ABN (with Show toggles), a Description, and the roles displayed on the card — add predefined or custom roles with names, and show/hide individual roles. Delete here removes the node from the scenario.
Click the map heading at the top of the canvas to edit its title. Other toolbar actions: Auto arrange (re-lay-out the diagram), Fit view and Fullscreen.
Choose portrait or landscape, then use the download menu: Export as PDF, Export as PNG, Export as SVG or Export as OPML. Exports include the heading and a footer. Scenarios can also Import OPML from other diagram tools.
If the group has no clients yet, the Map tab shows No clients to display on the map.
Editing a group contact's roles (for example who is a trustee) updates what the map shows for that entity on the Current tab.
