Nagaris Mail can sync Gmail mailboxes from your firm's Google Workspace domain, alongside or instead of Microsoft 365. Google Workspace support is in beta.
A firm partway through a migration can run Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace at once: both providers get their own card on the Mail tab, and mailboxes from either show up together once synced.
Only firm admins can connect or disconnect. The controls are hidden for other members, and the server enforces it too.
Before you start: Nagaris Mail must be enabled for your organisation. If the Channels page has no Mail tab, contact support to turn it on for your firm.
Google has no consent screen to redirect you to. Instead, your Workspace admin grants Nagaris domain-wide delegation directly inside the Google Admin console, then Nagaris verifies that delegation when you submit the connection form.
Go to Settings in the sidebar and choose Channels.
Open the Mail tab.
Find the Google Workspace card, marked with a Beta badge, next to the Microsoft 365 card.
If Nagaris isn't set up yet in your Google Admin console, the card shows the values to add there. In the Google Admin console, go to Security > Access and data control > API controls > Domain-wide delegation and add a new API client using the Client ID and OAuth scopes shown on the card. Use the copy button next to each value.
Enter your Workspace domain (for example firm.com.au) and the Administrator email of a Workspace administrator. Google only answers domain-wide questions when an administrator is asking, so a non-admin address won't work.
Click Verify and connect.
If the delegation is set up correctly, you'll see a success message such as "Google Workspace connected — found 3 mailboxes. Choose which to sync below." and can move straight on to turning mailboxes on, the same way as for Microsoft 365. See Choosing which mailboxes sync into Nagaris Mail.
If something's wrong, an error message names the problem, for example a missing scope or an incorrect administrator address. Fix it in the Google Admin console and try again.
If the card instead reads "Google isn't configured on this environment yet. Contact support to enable Gmail syncing.", Google Workspace hasn't been set up for your environment yet; contact support.
The Google Workspace card always shows the current state: a Connected or Not connected badge, and when connected, the domain, the date it was connected and who connected it.
Connecting alone doesn't sync anything. Every discovered mailbox starts switched off, the same as with Microsoft 365.
An admin can click Disconnect on the Google Workspace card. The confirmation dialog spells out the effect: this stops syncing Gmail mailboxes for the organisation. Already-synced email stays available to browse and search, and reconnecting resumes syncing. Disconnecting Google Workspace has no effect on a Microsoft 365 connection, or vice versa.
The Google Workspace card doesn't appear: Nagaris Mail isn't enabled for the organisation.
No connect form appears even though you're an admin: Google Workspace hasn't been configured on this environment yet; contact support.
Connecting fails: check that the domain-wide delegation client ID and scopes in the Google Admin console exactly match the values shown on the card, and that the administrator email you entered belongs to a Workspace administrator on that domain.
