Connecting your own email account lets you send email from Nagaris using your real address — better deliverability, professional communication, and the conversation continues in your own email client too. Accounts are connected per person; each team member links their own.
There are two places, and they do the same thing:
Go to Settings (bottom of the sidebar) and choose Channels. On the Channels tab you'll find the Connect New Email card.
Or open your Profile page, which has the same Connect New Email card.
The card offers two providers:
Microsoft (Exchange, Outlook)
Google (Workspace, Gmail)
Click a provider, and you're redirected to Google or Microsoft to sign in and approve access. When you come back to Nagaris you'll see a confirmation such as Google account connected successfully! and the account appears in your Connected Emails card. If something goes wrong you'll see Failed to connect google account (or microsoft) — just try again.
On the Channels page, the Connected Emails card lists every account you've linked. It's private to you: Only visible to you. Other team members see their own connected emails. From here you can:
Primary email — choose which of your accounts is your default sender. You'll see Primary email account updated when it saves.
Organisation inbox — firm admins can nominate one of their connected accounts as the whole organisation's shared inbox (see the organisation inbox article). Changing it asks you to confirm — Change organisation inbox? — because it affects where the firm's Inbox email is sent from and received.
Shared with team — tick the checkbox next to an account to let teammates send from that address. You'll see a confirmation like [email protected] is now shared with Your Firm, and the address then appears in the organisation's Shared Emails card.
Disconnect — use the row's actions menu and choose Disconnect to unlink an account. You'll see Email account disconnected successfully.
The Shared Emails card (also on the Channels page) shows Email addresses shared by team members for sending — every address anyone in the firm has shared. The owner of an address, or a firm admin, can remove one with Unshare.
When you compose an email from the Inbox, the Send From dropdown lists:
your organisation's shared inbox address, labelled (Shared inbox);
your own connected accounts, with (Primary) marked on your primary; and
a fallback via Nagaris address used when nothing else is connected.
You can also connect a new account without leaving the compose window — click Connect New Email above the Send From field.
Connecting an account never exposes it to teammates automatically. Sharing is a separate, explicit step per organisation.
The same person can connect several accounts (for example a personal mailbox and a practice mailbox) and switch between them per email.
If the Connected Emails card shows No email accounts connected, you simply haven't linked anything yet — use the Connect New Email card above it.
