You can message many clients at once by email or SMS — designed for real practice work like chasing a missing document, confirming a lodgement, or a reminder before a BAS deadline (not newsletters). Every message is personalised per recipient, each recipient gets their own conversation, and replies land back in your shared Inbox.
Go to Clients (or Contacts) and tick the rows you want to message.
In the bulk actions bar that appears, click Send Message. The Send bulk message sheet opens.
Choose the channel at the top: Email or SMS.
When you select clients, Nagaris resolves each client's primary contact and sends to them. When you select contacts, it messages those people directly. The recipients panel shows the current count (for example 12 clients), lets you remove anyone with the cross on their chip, and lets you search to add more recipients without leaving the sheet. Recipients are validated up front — anyone without an email address (for email) or phone number (for SMS) is flagged so you can fix or remove them before sending.
Bulk email requires your organisation's shared inbox — if it isn't connected you'll see Your organisation's shared inbox must be connected before you can send bulk email with an Open Email settings link for an admin.
Optionally pick an Email template, then edit the subject and body in the live preview (click a section to edit it).
Placeholders like the recipient's first name are substituted per recipient at send time; the preview shows real values for the first recipient, labelled with (+ N more) when there are several.
Use Include signature and the Signature source selector as with normal Inbox email.
Attachments aren't available on bulk email.
Each recipient receives their own individual email in its own thread — recipients never see each other.
Pick an SMS Template or choose Custom message and type your text (up to 1,530 characters — but watch the segment counter, since every 160/153 characters is a billed segment per recipient).
With a template selected, you'll see: Placeholders are personalised per client when sent. Preview uses the first recipient. You don't fill variables manually — Nagaris resolves them per recipient.
Click Send to N clients (or contacts). Sending is queued in the background — you'll see a toast like Queued 12 emails, 1 skipped. and the sheet switches to the progress view:
A heading — Bulk email progress or Bulk SMS progress — with a batch status badge: Pending, Sending, Completed or Failed.
A progress bar (8 of 12 done (66%)) that updates automatically while sending runs.
Count tiles for Sent, Delivered (SMS only), Failed and Skipped.
A per-recipient table with each person's address or number, live status, and (for email) any failure detail.
Skipped recipients are listed with the reason, for example: No primary contact set for this client., Recipient has no phone number., Recipient has no email address. Use Refresh to re-check and Done to close — the batch keeps sending in the background either way.
Completed means the send task finished; individual recipients can still show failed in the table, so scan the counts before moving on.
Every sent message creates a normal conversation in the Inbox, so follow-ups and replies are handled exactly like one-to-one messages.
Bulk email and bulk SMS both draw on the same templates you manage under Settings, Templates.
